Acorn Bar & Bistro
Next door to the hotel is the Acorn Bar & Bistro, owned and operated by Denise Manderson and Chef Tony Eru. Seasonal menus showcasing fine regional produce and local wines, together with superior service make this petit bistro something very special.
The dining room is a cozy and charming space with board and batten ceilings, ancient Kauri floorboards, and harbour views. The pretty mix of New Zealand and French styling with French Thonet style chairs and dark oak tables dressed with candles, linen napkins, and fine glassware create a warmth and intimacy. Outside, an oak tree lit with fairy lights shades the lovely seaside patio.
The Acorn is open summer months for breakfast, lunch and dinner and features a full bar and wheelchair access. Additionally, the Acorn provides the perfect facility for your party, meeting, or wedding and is able to provide catering and all hospitality services to enable your group to enjoy the intimate setting whether you are staying at the Old Oak Hotel, at other lodgings, or live in the area.
